On the Road to Social Transformation: Utilizing Cultural and Community Strengths to End Domestic Violence -- Three national training workshops are being offered that will help participants to achieve the following objectives:
Understand the importance of making their programs and services more accessible and responsive to the particular needs of underserved populations, specifically Latinas/os
Learn how to conduct a cultural competency organizational self-assessment to help determine what changes need to be made, within their organizations, to create organizational diversity, eliminate disparities, and develop culturally competent programs and services.
Learn about various culturally and linguistically responsive approaches, strategies and programs created to address the specific needs of Latina survivors, families and communities and explore examples of what culturally responsive services look like in terms of policies, staffing, outreach, accessibility, practices and other key elements.
The trainings are sponsored by Alianza-the National Latino Alliance for the Elimination of Domestic Violence and the U.S. Department of Justice/Office of Violence Against Women.
The training in Camarillo, CA will take place on March 24 & 25, 2014 .
