Ivonne Ortiz, Alianza’s Training & TA Coordinator, will be conducting a workshop entitled The Road to Cultural Competence: From Increasing Awareness to Building Skills, at the Indiana Latino Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence 7th Annual Statewide Conference. Indiana Latino Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence Hosts 7th Annual Statewide Conference, to be held October 4 in Indianapolis, Indiana, is Transforming Communities: Reducing Disparities (Special Emphasis on Immigrant Victim). It will be oriented toward bringing awareness and providing key intervention tools that will enable social service providers to more effectively serve immigrants. The conference keynote speaker will be Maria Leticia Guelfi, Programme Specialist at the Americas Division in UN Women where her work focuses on issues related to Ending Violence Against Women, Aid Effectiveness & Gender Responsive Budgeting. In collaboration with other UN agencies, she was responsible for developing the initial document of the UN Secretary General’s Unite To End Violence Against Women Campaign, for Latin American and the Caribbean.
