The Women of Color Network (WOCN), a project of the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence has an opening for the position of Project Specialist. The Project Specialist is responsible for providing high quality and comprehensive program and organizational support to the WOCN Project Manager in the growth, development and implementation of the national WOCN Project, including:

  • Providing daily, up-to-date basic and enhanced technical assistance and response to the increasing calls from women of color and other constituents across the country

  • Providing specialized national technical assistance in public policy and participating in national systems change efforts

  • Compiling statistics and data and providing information and referrals

  • Developing publications related to communities of color and violence against women and families

  • Assist in shaping and enhancing WOCN membership and participation

  • Providing support and participation in outreach efforts

  • Assisting the WOCN Project Manager in tracking progress and supporting the work of WOCN project consultants, mentors and associates

  • Coordinating all WOCN information technology and publications development.

Position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, with a minimum of two years experience providing services to domestic violence or sexual assault victims and/or two years of experience in social change, social justice, systems advocacy or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Other qualifications include: Demonstrated knowledge of domestic violence and violence against women overall, as well as issues specific to communities of color.
